My “Sauce” Doesn’t Work in Everyone’s Kitchen — And That’s the Po

July 22, 2025

Genre labels can be useful — but also misleading. People often ask me if I’m darkwave, synthpop, or witch house. The truth? I’m all of them and none of them.

I don’t make music to fit a mold. I pull sounds that resonate and place them in new contexts. Some people call that innovation. I just call it expression.

Think of it like this: everyone has the same basic ingredients, but not everyone makes the same sauce. My “sauce” might taste weird to some, but it’s mine. And it’s not meant to be universal. It’s meant to be honest.

That’s what I admire most in artists — those who create something sincere, regardless of what’s trending. That’s what I try to do every time I sit down to produce.

So, if you're out there trying to make your own thing, don’t worry about the label. Focus on the flavor.
